Wifi Hacking Revisited

Posted by on Aug 3, 2006 in wireless | 0 comments

I am reviving my old wifi hobbies again. It was “dead” for a while since I broke my Orinoco pigtail connector – no pigtail means all the antennas were no use. But since I received few emails regarding wifi from my new friend, arwana at ITTutor.net inspired me (good reason to start back!) to revisit my wifi hobbies again.

For a start, I already placed an order for MC card connector for a new homemade pigtail from Ebay. The N connector and RG316 was still unused (untouched?) in the toolbox so the only missing elements now is the to get the right crimping tool!

My idea now is first to bring up my Wireless Community project up and running(maybe with Chillispot ) and later invite friends of ITTutor.net to my home at Nusa Subang to have our very own version of Home Brew Antenna Shootout.
The idea is simple. Bring all your DIY antennas to my place and we shoot them right to my house from the playground infront – and find the best antenna design with best signal reception!

Some gadgets in my toolbox.

Few N connectors and the panel mount, copper wires and a tin can. Also the RG316 cable for the pigtail, just ordered MC-card connectors from Ebay hope to recieve it soon. The only thing missing was the Orinoco card! I loaned all my cards to friends since I got my Centrino Thinkpad.

Panel mount N-connectors female (right) and N connectors male.

This antenna will be mounted infront of my house with Senao 2611 AP.
