    The Running Man

    Posted in: Sports

    Mynikeplus1

OK not so proud of it. 1.49km in 14 minutes – perhaps my 6 year old son could do much better and further.
After few months dreaming of this Nike Plus gadget , I finally got the whole set . Bought my Nike shoes about two months ago (without Nike+ features – just can’t find any in Riyadh) , the Nike Plus sensor was bought at BP Mall during my vacation on July and the Ipod 2G Nano was only bought recently . So things just get started for this running man “wannabe” ! Forgive me Err ehh but now its burning hot 40 Celcius and Ramadhan is just 2 weeks to go (alasan .. alasan..)

During my trip back home to Nusa Subang from KLIA airport recently, my brother showed me this portable hard disk player he bought to be coupled with his TFT screen mounted on the middle of the car’s roof. He proudly said that it was a Korean technology (Sarotech) “a bit high end” and much better compared to one of those China made player they sold in Lelong. A portable player -(depends on your how much you’re willing to spent on the storage!) hmm…that could be handy if to be use during traveling — immediately I know I am desperately need one of those!!
So having a month worth of vacation ( also while waiting for Nokia to bank in my next salary :) ) I started my search for a portable multimedia player. After looking around at lelong and ebay, this TVIX M-4000PA really caught my eye — love at first sight!

“You have to begin to lose your memory, if only in bits and pieces, to realize that memory is what makes our lives. Life without memory is no life at all, just as an intelligence without the possibility of expression is not really an intelligence. Our memory is our coherence, our reason, our feeling, even our action. Without it, we are nothing.” - -Luis Buñuel

On the very last day of our vacation in Malaysia before leaving for Riyadh, we decided to visit Ammar’s old school – IMC. It was located in USJ3 not so far away from Ummi’s best friends house :) . Ammar was greeted like celebrity with hugs and kisses by all those kind people there – it has been almost a year since our last visits and we noticed there are new people becoming part of IMC.
While waiting for Mr. & Mrs Sunny (the principal there) , we sat outside watching Imran, Sabrina and Alysha playing at the small playground.
Ammar seemed to be confused. Perhaps thinking, are we sending him back there to continue schooling at IMC?

    Driftnet

    Posted in: open Source

    driftnet

Please focus on the application in the middle. It is a linux based and called Driftnet – the task of installing was easy in Ubuntu (did I tell you how I love apt-get?) What in the world is Driftnet?

    Quoted from Driftnet website

Inspired by EtherPEG (though, not owning an Apple Macintosh, I’ve never actually seen it in operation), Driftnet is a program which listens to network traffic and picks out images from TCP streams it observes. Fun to run on a host which sees lots of web traffic.

In short – it is an image sniffer and if you placed it correctly/strategically in the network, you can see all the images passing through -or in other words you’ll see what everyone in the network are watching in their browser at that time in realtime!!

I read about it many years ago in Linux Journal and I think I have tried it once before so having the new mini-itx box with me now, I am recollecting all those interesting apps to be installed in this 60GB computer :)

Use it at your own risk — don’t get caught sniffing images at your office’s network!
