OK not so proud of it. 1.49km in 14 minutes – perhaps my 6 year old son could do much better and further.
After few months dreaming of this Nike Plus gadget , I finally got the whole set . Bought my Nike shoes about two months ago (without Nike+ features – just can’t find any in Riyadh) , the Nike Plus sensor was bought at BP Mall during my vacation on July and the Ipod 2G Nano was only bought recently . So things just get started for this running man “wannabe” ! Forgive me Err ehh but now its burning hot 40 Celcius and Ramadhan is just 2 weeks to go (alasan .. alasan..)

The ipod with the receiver was wrapped around the arm.

This setup is what people called “bad idea”. I was thinking to do the mod used here but just could not find a velcro
that day. ( I saw it somewhere in the house!) Notice the “unsecured”
Nike sensor/transmitter under the shoe laces – after 5 minutes of
running (look at the spike drop on the graph) suddenly it was missing and minutes later the “system” told me
that my training was stopped . Ouch!! Gostan
about 50 m back and found it on the road nearby. Luckily it was 7am on
a Thursday morning (weekend in Saudi Arabia) – no moving cars around as everybody (mostly I think) in the
compound were still asleep.

Why only 1.49km? It could be less but on my way back to my home (after 10 min), I saw one of my neighbour chatting with her friends right infront the house. Darn! She was there when I started running (you know lah woman if they started chatting it would take hours..) so I don’t want to see her later asking me “How was your “first” and 10 minutes jogging the other day??” So I kept on running for another 5 minutes lap and there she was — still there!! But a man gotta do what a man gotta do.. pancit beb! I just quietly run into my house. I’m done for the day dude!!
